FEST PHILOSOPHY

AND MISSION

In the icy terrains of Reykjavik, YETI FilmFest takes inspiration from the elusive yet ever-present spirit of adventure. Our core philosophy lies in the belief that the journey of filmmaking is as deep and significant as the story that unfolds on the screen. We challenge creators to "dare enter the deepest confines of yourself." To venture beyond your imagination, to cut to your truth, to find yourself through the transformative power of film. We believe in stories that are raw, authentic, and soul-stirring, especially those that center around character depth and quests.

A brainchild birthed in 2023, YETI FilmFest is the virtual prodigy that has reshaped the landscape of online film festivals. In just a short span, it has garnered attention from emerging filmmakers worldwide, not just for its coveted prizes but for its prompt turnaround times and the promise of genuine recognition. This isn't just another online FilmFest; it's the one that's been setting tongues wagging and hearts hoping.

  • Generous Prizes: With a grand prize of $3,500 for the year's best film or screenplay, YETI FilmFest isn't just about prestige – it's about tangible rewards for your hard work.
  • IMDb Qualifier: Earn the recognition you deserve with IMDb-accredited award category nominations.
  • Fast Turnaround: Unlike traditional festivals that keep you waiting for a year, we value your time and passion. Get results faster with us!
  • Unique Web Presence: Our sleek award laurels and engaging online platform ensure that your work gets the spotlight it merits.
  • Recognition Over Oblivion: We've cultivated a space where creators feel seen and recognized, rather than dispatching their creative offspring into the void.

Policy on Free Waivers

and Online Integrity

At the Yeti FilmFest, our core aim is to foster a fair platform for filmmakers across the globe to present their cinematic achievements. We steadfastly uphold the credibility and equity of our online platform, establishing the subsequent guidelines:

1. EMAIL MARKETING & OFFICIAL SELECTION: While leveraging email marketing to enhance the visibility and recognition of our festival, filmmakers must discern that being recipients of marketing materials does not infer automatic official selection or nomination. Films undergo a meticulous selection regimen, and no assurance of selection is predicated solely on marketing initiatives.

2. NO FREE WAIVERS: In the digital landscape of creative competitions, both perception and substance carry weight. Providing free waivers might inadvertently distort the festival's perceived legitimacy and the esteem attributed to filmmakers' endeavors. We opt not to offer free waivers for two central reasons:

2. a. RESPECT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS: Entrants often commit substantial time and resources to our festival. It's vital that each participant feels their dedication and investments are reciprocated with due respect and appreciation.

2. b. UPHOLDING PRIZE INTEGRITY: Awarding the coveted 'Film of the Year' accolade, coupled with a significant cash reward, to an entrant on a free waiver might unintentionally diminish the value and perceived fairness of the competition. This could inadvertently detract from the commitment of those who followed the regular entry protocol.

Our festival is invigorated by the zeal, commitment, and fair-play spirit of its contributors. We trust that these measures cultivate a setting where innovation is exalted, and every filmmaker has an equitable opportunity to flourish.

By partaking in the YETI FilmFest, you validate your comprehension of, and adherence to, the terms mentioned above and confirm your perusal and acceptance of YETI's official guidelines and stipulations.
